Pedro Peschiera groups his paintings into “families” — Mantles, Wells, Holes, Shells, Tables, Arks, and others — each one enlarging his conceptual and pictorial vocabulary. Yet the symbolic references these types imply are never definitive or univocal; ambiguities are intentional and accompany every interpretation. Ideally his works should be viewed collectively, so they confront, complete, and resonate with one another. This is likely why he rarely presents them in chronological order.
